How to choose what cavaletti is best for you
We have 2 styles of our standard length, and 2 of our skinny stackable Cowan Cavalletti.
The tallest cavaletti is ideal for riders who like to jump train: the Jump cavalletti and the skinny version, the Skinny Jump cavalletti. They are about 385mm high – see the photo below of the tallest cross stand. The shortest cavaletti which dressage and pleasure riders enjoy are the Versatile, for the standard length cavaletti and the Skinny Lizzie for the skinny version at about 250mm high.
Our Cavaletti are easy to assemble with two bolt holding the pole in place.
By adding a pole to the cradle the height is increased and there is more jump training options. We sell sets that have matching poles that can sit in the cavaletti cradle.
If you prefer more flat work, the Versatile is definitely for you. It will build your confidence with raised trot work and gives the options to start jumping your horse. You can start with the cavalletti on its side, and it is like our Mini 180mm high, a raised trot pole. Make it higher by placing the cavalletti in its upright position. Even at this height the cavalletti is a higher raised trot pole and many horses will consider this a jump. Add a pole on top and it becomes as high as the Jump Cowan Cavalletti. Gradually increase its height by stacking another Versatile and then another pole…
If you want a particular colour that we do not have in our shop, please request as we are constantly changing to meet our customers preferences.
Our Skinny Jump and Skinny Lizzie are 1280mm long half the length of our regular Cowan Cavalletti. If you are an Eventer and need to train to jump skinny jumps or have a limited area for schooling your horse the Skinny stackables are ideal.
